Hank Keogh started Avoca Seed Farm in 2009, after his first year working at Wild Garden Seed. Born and raised in Corvallis, Oregon, he holds a degree in horticulture from Oregon State University, where he worked with Jim Myers and met Frank Morton. Hank now works as field manager for Wild Garden Seed, and manages 7+ acres at Avoca Seed Farm in partnership with Wild Garden Seed. The original cross for Dazzling Blue Lacinato was begun in 2011. Hank met his wife, Jo Erikson, in 2012 at the Organic Seed Alliance conference in Port Townsend. They now manage Avoca together to grow certified organic seed crops for Wild Garden Seed and Adaptive Seed.
