“A few years ago, about 5% of our Jimmy Nardello peppers were larger, more vigorous plants with sweet yellow rather than red peppers. We saved the seed; the next year most of the offspring of the Yellow Nardello were similar to the parent, but some were moderately spicy (see Hot Jimmy below). Yellow Nardello is not quite as sweet as the original, but has a similar lovely flavor. We like seeing the two of them together. 2015 was the 4th generation, and we are still seeing some hot rogues, which are distinctive in shape and color.”
