Description
Wherokowhai originated from a cross between Dwarf Russian Swirl F3 and Lucky Cross made by Ray South in 2007 named Dizzy F1. Wherokowhai, which is a Maori word for ‘red/yellow’, was selected and named by volunteer Richard Watson from New Zealand. It is a mid-season potato leaf yellow variety with swirls of red, and fruits are medium-large oblate. This bi-colour variety becomes more pink when very ripe, and is a very attractive sweet and flavourful variety. Plants reach around a metre+ / 3-4 ft by end of season.
