Description
Sarandipity originated from a cross between a Cheeky selection from our project and Black Zebra made by Ray South in 2008 and named Streaky (an F1 hybrid). Sarandipity is an early season regular leaf dwarf with heavy yields of medium small round chocolate brick colored fruit with vertical green stripes, nearly metallic in appearance. The fruit are typically in the 2 -3 oz range, and the flavor is well balanced, mild and pleasant. Plants reach about a metre+/ 3-4 ft by end of season. This variety was selected and named by project co-lead Craig LeHoullier after his daughter, Sara.
