Description

‘Purple Striped’ tomatillo arose from an accidental cross between a Mexican strain tomatillo and a purple tomatillo that was noticed in seedlings the next year. The variety is notable for its early maturity and strikingly patterned husk with purple stripes on a dark green background. The variety has somewhat a more open branching pattern than ‘Purple de Milpa’. This variety was developed by Melanie Sylvestre in Vancouver, BC.
