“Very Hot. 90-100 days. Orange Embers Habanero is the end result of 8 years of selecting an easy to grow, early to mature orange habanero with a moderate heat level that is easier to use in recipes. Ranging anywhere from a quarter to half as hot as a typical habanero, Orange Embers still retains all of the flavor and aromatic spice that habaneros should have. Short plants are great for containers and are loaded with small orange fruit which resemble embers. The heat is spicy, but not burn-your-face-off hot – more like the heat of smoldering embers than a raging fire. Orange Embers originated from a chance cross between a yellow Aji Limon and an orange hybrid habanero. This wide cross offered us the perfect opportunity to select several very different new peppers, including Limón Lightning. Perfect added to pickled carrots or for producing hot sauces with a tropical character. Expected Scoville Heat Unit (SHU) range: 25,000-50,000.”
