Description
“(S11-12 S15 S19) Okay, more plays on Ivan’s name and this one has beautiful ivory flower petals. Honestly, this variety does not have the most charismatic bulbs. It appears like any other Purple Stripe type with white outer wrappers, pink blushed inner layers, 8-12 cloves, medium heat that doesn’t linger. It’s a nice looking head but doesn’t really stand out as far as the bulbs go. What it does feature is large umbels, an early flowering tendency with those pearly petals, and the bulbils practically fall out when nodding in the breeze. Easy to get seeds from and quite a prolific producer of them which makes great for crossing with other early to flowers cultivars. It is 3 generations out from the seeds Ivan gave me and that Ted Meredith initially grew out. There’s a S22 generation being selected for further propagation.”
