Description
A sweet, honey-gold, crack resistant vigorous indeterminate cherry tomato that is early and productive. This variety is more prone to crossing than most tomatoes, and has been selected to maintain some genetic diversity in the population. Color and shape show some variability, including color variations on golden that lean towards yellow, orange, and peach tones, and shapes including round, oblong, and with a pointy blossom end. Other colors, shapes, and sizes should be considered off-types (see also Pink Princess and Anona’s Sunset, who originated from the same breeding project). Originated as a dehybridization of Sunsugar, and has been selected for flavor, crack resistance, vigor, and disease resistance in Western Massachusetts, both in field and hoophouse conditions. Seems to be parthenocarpic, as fruit often have few, and occasionally no, seeds. We see it set fruit reliably in both cool and hot (poorly ventilated hoophouse) conditions. Bred by Tevis Robertson-Goldberg.
