Description
““Echo”” is a self-pollinating, inbred grape-cherry tomato line. It is an indeterminate tomato with small oval or plum shaped fruit characteristic of a “grape-tomato”. The inflorescence of “Echo” is elongated and simple, though occasionally forked, with a series of alternate lateral flowers typically extending to greater than 12. The cotyledon, leaflet, and floral organs, are slender and slightly elongated. Fruit are attached by a jointed pedicel, are elliptical with two locules and the surface is smooth. “”Echo”” has high beta-carotene which imparts an orange color to the fruit. “”Echo”” also has high sugar content and a perception of sweetness noted by trained taste-panelists.”
