Description
Dwarf Mister Snow originated from a cross made by Patrina Nuske Small between Golden Dwarf Champion and Green Giant in 2005, named Sneezy (an F1 hybrid). Dwarf Mister Snow is a mid-late season potato leaf dwarf with heavy yields of medium large to large oblate fruit, in the 8-12 ounce range, that are an ivory color. The ripe fruit often show a pale pink blossom end. The flavor is quite intense and refreshingly tart, a characteristic that is very rare in tomatoes of this color. Plants reach about a metre+/ 3-5 ft by end of season. This variety was selected and named by project co-leader Craig LeHoullier, who chose the name to recognize an editor of his local newspaper, Mr. A. C. Snow. Mr. Snow was interested in Craig’s heirloom tomato efforts and featured him in an article. After learning of his new namesake, he wrote a follow up article expressing his delight and noting that having something named after him was a first.
