Description
80 days, dwarf — The rugose, regular leaf plants of ‘Dwarf Idaho Gem’’ produce lots of medium to large, ranging from four to fourteen ounces, true yellow (not orange), oblate shaped tomatoes with a well-balanced, delightful flavor. This is a perfect meaty slicing tomato that helps prove that yellow tomatoes are not bland or too mild. The “Fancy” family originated from a cross made by Sherry Long between a selection from the Dwarf Tomato Project’s “Sunny” family and the indeterminate variety ‘Orange Pear’. ‘Dwarf Idaho Gem’’ was selected by refined by Susan Olverson. Additional significant contributions were made by Craig LeHoullier, Bill Minkey, Mike Dunton and John Dunton.
