Description
Dwarf Emerald Giant originated from a cross made by Patrina Nuske Small between Golden Dwarf Champion and Green Giant in 2005, named Sneezy (an F1 hybrid). Dwarf Emerald Giant is a mid-late season potato leaf dwarf with heavy yields of medium large to large oblate fruit, in the 8-16 ounce range, that are a pale green in color, possessing green flesh over clear skin. The ripe fruit often show a pale pink blossom end. The flavor is well balanced and intense and approximates well the excellence of its parent variety, Green Giant. Plants reach about a metre+/ 3-5 ft by end of season. This variety was selected and named by project co-leader Craig LeHoullier, to reflect the color and size of the fruit.
