Description
Dwarf Beryl Beauty originated from a cross made by Patrina Nuske Small between Golden Dwarf Champion and Green Giant in 2005, named Sneezy (an F1 hybrid). Dwarf Beryl Beauty is an early-mid season potato leaf dwarf with heavy yields of medium small to medium smooth round fruit, in the 3-6 ounce range, that are a pale green in color, possessing green flesh over clear skin. Many fruit will also exhibit a pale pink blossom end blush when fully ripe. The flavor is well balanced, refreshing and mildly sweet. Plants reach about a metre+/ 3-5 ft by end of season. This variety was selected and named by project co-leader Craig LeHoullier after the gem stone Beryl, which the distinctive pink and green fruit color is reminiscent of.
