Description

Chocolate Lightning originated from a cross between Dwarf Wild Fred (one of our early releases) and Beauty King made by Vince Lavallo in 2011 and named Beauty (an F1 hybrid). Chocolate Lightning is a mid-late to late season regular leaf dwarf with heavy yields of medium to medium large sized smooth oblate chocolate brick red fruit with vertical greenish gold stripes, ranging from 6-8 ounces. The fruit have a well balanced, assertive, delicious flavor. Plants reach about a metre+/ 3-5 ft by end of season. This variety was selected and named by project co-lead Craig LeHoullier.
