Description

“One of our two new ulluco introductions this year. The varieties Humptulips and Moclips were grown from seed and may be the first seed-grown varieties offered for sale anywhere since the Incas were breeding the crop. Ulluco seed has long been regarded as nearly impossible to produce, but we’ve been doing it for several years now and we’re looking forward to producing improved varieties for North America. You’re on the cutting edge with these varieties; they were produced in 2015. A very small amount is available and they’re priced at a premium because of that. If you are willing to wait until next year, they will come down to our standard ulluco pricing. Humptulips was a big, vigorous plant that performed well in our unusual drought and produced a lot of medium-size lumpy yellow tubers.”
