Description
75 days, dwarf — The rugose, regular leaf plants of ‘Dwarf Speckled Heart’ produce smooth, five to twelve ounce, heart shaped tomatoes that are scarlet red in color with golden stripes. Though its meatiness makes it perfect for sauces, the depth of its balanced, rich flavor make it perfect for sandwiches and salads.
Due to its beauty, quality and productivity, ‘Dwarf Speckled Heart’ is Craig LeHoullier’s favorite Dwarf Tomato Project release from the “Speckly” family. Craig selected and named this mid-season ripening variety. Volunteers that had a hand in its development, included Nancy Ruhl, Debra Kennedy, Carolyn Keiper, Gina McDermott, Brinda Rimaya, Susan Oliverson, Mickey Pasco-Powell, Robin Bort, Paul Fish, Jim Shaloiko, Reitzel Deaton, and Bill Minkey.
