Description
An open pollinated variety bred from an expired hybrid and several other sources using bio-dynamic growing practices. a) a sturdy, upright plant appr. 1 1/2 to 2 ft. tall with good foliage cover of slightly savoyed dark green leaves. b) Sprouts 1 1/2 inches, oval, tightly wrapped, medium green. c) Taste mild, crunchy. d) Maturity: Started in June will produce in early January in USDA zone 8, until early March when flowering proceeds.e) At present this variety is about 85 % to type. Off types may be small plants, have tip burn, or sprouts do not close tightly, esp at base of stem. Some sprouts are more roundish and maturity dates may vary with smaller sprouts filling out later.
